Borroughs
Shelf Life Blog
Copywriting, technical writing
Writing about metal shelving units may not be the sexiest work I’ve ever done, but…
It sure was fun.
I really like the opportunity to learn new things. Especially when they’re things I hardly knew existed. Metal shelving was one of those things.
Of course, Amazon and other huge warehouses need sturdy shelves to toss all their stuff on. And it needs to be reliable. And infinitely configurable. And super-duper strong.
And that’s what Borroughs does best.
Borroughs needed a blog to help field some of their most common questions. A great bank of information that would save their sales reps time and effort.
It also serves as a clickthrough for people who bite on social ads.
So, I was on phone calls with product engineers getting this stuff down in layman’s terms. If I could understand it well enough, I knew I could make my audience understand it well enough.
The result? In tandem with our social ads, this content helped Borroughs bring in more than $1,057,000 from the start of the campaign, bringing a 200% increase in projected sales this year.
I’m not really a numbers guy, but… I think that’s pretty solid. I’m stoked that we made a positive impact for our client, even if the work wasn’t what you’d call sexy.
